HOOVER MIDDLE SCHOOL class comes up with outstanding holiday ideas

Sixth-grade math Teacher Tina Schmittling and her Hoover Middle School class came up with the idea to spread some holiday cheer to school families that need some help.

Their first idea was to collect new hats, gloves, and scarves. With the help of Ms. Tavener-Radiger (Ms. TR), the class’s Christmas tree is covered.

Their second ideas was to sell paper ornaments during lunch for 50 cents each that students decorated with markers and/or glitter glue to hang on the Christmas trees in the hallways.

The money collected will be going to help purchase items for our baskets that are given to families in need in the Hoover community.

Schmittling also wanted to recognize Nicholas Sandoval (Hoover sixth grader) who bought one ornament then donated his change ($19.50) to help the families. Schmittling is so proud of all the students' kind and giving hearts.
