FRITZ CONCERT SERIES: Summer event continues at the conservatory


CRAIG STRAIN WILL BE FEATURED AT TAYLOR CONSERVATORY & BOTANICAL GARDENS JULY 23.

The admission for all regular season concerts is $5 at the door.

TRC HOLDS APPRECIATION NIGHT


The Taylor Reading Corps will host a "Volunteer and Donor Appreciation Dinner" at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at the Taylor Masonic Center, 23263 Goddard Road.

The reading corps is a non-profit 501(c)3 that recruits, trains and supervises hundreds of volunteer mentors, who aid Taylor low elementary school children in reading. It mentors children in groups preschool through the third grade.

SCREEN ON THE GREEN features outdoor family movie tonight


Southpoint Church, 7155 Norwood, is presenting Screen on the Green free outdoor family movies on July 20 and again on August 16.

Games and prizes will be starting at 7:30 p.m. with the movies at 9.

The films are "Despicable Me 2" and "The Lego Movie."

Bring your chairs, blankets and bug spray.

PARK IT AT HERITAGE PARK!


Park It Family Fun Night, featuring live music, children's activities, giveaways and movies under the stars, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, at Heritage Park. This is a totally fun activity running in conjunction with the Junior League World Series, which will also be underway nearby.

The event will be held on the Heritage Park soccer fields, which run along the north end of the park. Live music by The George Brothers will begin at 6:30 p.m. The movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory will begin at 8:15.

The sponsors of this event include Metro PCS, ZTE and the Detroit Zoo.
