Despite
some questionable weather and some soggy grounds that just won't go away, the

gathering at Heritage Park around Coan Lake for the annual walk-a-thon.

from both Hoover and West middle schools were on hand, as were the JROTC. The
West Middle School Jazz Band was also on hand.
Sponsors
included Fox 2, Applewood Nursing, Harvard Drug, Meijer, Purolator
International, Taylor Town, The WHSE, LLC, EEI Global, Senate Coney Island,
Title Brothers Construction, the Democratic Club of Taylor, Advantage One FCU,
McCaffery's, Sonne Family Dental, and the Grosse Ile Academy.
The
Relay will take place all day and night and finish up with a ceremony Sunday
morning about 10.

Luminaria event is scheduled for tonight around Coan Lake. Luminaria bags are
still being sold around the lake at various locations for a $10 donation.
