Congratulations to Randall Elementary School’s fifth graders for completing the years in elementary. Their assembly was held recently followed by a catered lunch from Secret Recipes and a dance with DJ afterwards. The fifgth graders and teachers would like to thank the PTO for sponsoring everything and for all their hard work helping us celebrate the day!
Congratulations to Ivy and John for being awarded the Margaret Pilon Citizenship award for 2018-19. Margaret Pilon was a past principal who believed highly about citizenship. It is awarded every year to one or two students who show outstanding citizenship at Randall.
Also, we had three students with perfect attendance this year. Great job Logan, Trey, and Fabian for never missing a day of school!
Principal Mezaros read "I Wish You More" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal to the students and parents at the end of the assembly. Lots of tears from all the wishes. More treasures than pockets; More hugs than ughs; More umbrella than rain; More give than take; More we than me; More woohoo than whoa; More stories than stars; More pause than fast forward. The staff wishes all the fifth graders the best and more!
Retirement farewell and yummy treat at McDowell Elementary School! They have been celebrating with three of their favorite teachers - Elizabeth Bochenek, Erin Hardin and Sherry Hutchison - as they culminate a combined 82 years teaching in Taylor School District. We wish them well in whatever they choose to do next. Ms. Bochenek and Mrs. Hardin visited every classroom to say goodbye. They played ice cream truck music and charged a goodbye hug for treats.
Taylor Parks Elementary School had its fifth grade Clap Out. Students lined the halls to wish the fifth graders well as they are promoted to sixth grade. The fifth graders were given a special lunch and then went off to bowl at Skore Lanes. Good luck fifth graders as you head off to middle school.
Taylor Parks Elementary School students from Mrs. Ambrosia's and Mrs. Ramey's kindergarten classes, as well as Mrs. Rushlow's kindergarten/first grade class celebrated their graduation recently. Students performed songs for their families and received recognition for being promoted to the next grade level.
Taylor Bus Drivers win big at annual bus "Roadeo.” Team Taylor took home the first place "Team award" (highest three driver composite scores) in the Wayne Co. Bus driving Championship held recently at Taylor High School.
There were 56 registered participants. Taylor driver Mike Salisbury placed second, a mere point behind the first place finisher. Mike has therefore qualified for the State Driving Championship to be held June 22 in Romeo.
Congratulations to the entire team and to Mike for outstanding performance behind the wheel. Pictured are: Mike Salisbury, Austin Lake, Sarah Carroll, Denise Armstrong, Ciara Hughes, Gina McLure, Rachel Titek, Susan Burns
Blair Moody Elementary School's fourth graders in Mr. Dwyer’s and Mrs. Pilot’s classes had an amazing Science Day. Students participated in the Egg Drop- shout out to Ms. Doris for dropping the eggs from the roof. Fifty percent of the eggs landed unbroken due to great engineering. Other events included - Big Bubbles, Flying Film Canisters and Making Oobleck. Way to go Moody fourth graders!
