On
May 12, four of West Middle School’s exceptional eighth-grade girls attended
the STEM conference at Wayne County Community College.
It
was an amazing experience. The girls were encouraged to take the
"harder classes" to prepare them for their futures. They
attended workshops on the environment, aviation, technology, physical therapy,
and veterinary sciences. Through hands-on experiences they gained career
awareness. By exploring horizons for girls in science, these
wonderful young ladies know that for them the sky's the limit.
