The
Taylor Virtual Learning Academy was very busy this week with their annual
College Tours. Select TVLA Juniors and Seniors took two days to visit Henry
Ford College, Wayne County Community College and Eastern Michigan University.
Each
campus welcomed TVLA with open arms and provided a wealth of knowledge to the
students. Students learned many valuable lessons about campus living, financial
aid, and the opportunities beyond the classroom. Many are excited to finish up their high school career and
begin their college journeys.
Many
of the students were fascinated with the tours and quietly taking in the vast
knowledge and leadership of the tour guides. The goal of college visits is to provide information about
higher education to the students and also to peak their interest in planning
for their future.
The
bus rides home proved these field trips successful. Their excitement was
revealed on the ride home when they were discussing their future plans and
goals in education and beyond. A
special thank you to our tour guides and the welcoming staff at Eastern
Michigan University, Henry Ford College and Wayne County Community College
District.
