Parks Elementary School hosted its first “Time Out for Parents and PTA” meeting
for this year and had a wonderful turnout.
Parents
listened to guest speaker Captain Heidi Reed, from the Salvation Army while enjoying
donuts, juice and coffee.
Ms.
Reed gave the parents information regarding the holiday assistance programs
along with after school programs for children.
Following
the Time Out for Parents meeting, the PTA held it's meeting, with President Shannon
Vance. Mrs. Vance engaged the parents in a lively discussion of up coming
fund-raisers and everyone shared ideas.
By
combining the two meetings together, this makes it more convenient for parents
to attend both. These meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month in
the library.
