TRUMAN HIGH SCHOOL: Prom Fashion Show a big hit!

By Carly Lundgren-Barnard

The Truman High School marketing students’ Prom Fashion Show was a huge success.

Men’s Wearhouse dressed the male models. David’s Bridal and Yazee’s Boutique handled the female attire.

Men's Wearhouse will be running a prom representative program in which the marketing students will be taking part. They will receive their own business cards with their own personal ID number on them to pass out to students (and they do not have to be Truman students; they can be anyone needing to rent a tux).

If those students go into Men's Wearhouse for their prom tuxedo they will get $40 off their tux; the DECA marketing club will get a $5 donation for each person who comes in with a card; and the DECA member will receive benefits.

GO INTO MEN’S WEARHOUSE TODAY FOR A CHANCE TO WIN $25,000, A FREE TUX FOR PROM AND FREE $500 SUIT. YOU ONLY NEED FIVE REFERRALS FOR A FREE TUX, 10 REFERRALS FOR A FREE SUIT AND THE PERSON WHO GETS THE MOST REFERRALS WILL WIN $25,000. SECOND PLACE IS $15,000 AND THIRD PLACE IS $10,000.

MEN’S WEARHOUSE WILL ALSO DONATE $5 PER REFERRAL TO TRUMAN DECA CLUB. GIRLS CAN ALSO PARTICIPATE, AS WELL AS UNDERCLASSMAN.

Spirit week shirts are on sale in the school store for $12-$14.

Melissa Schroeder won the contest for the design. She designed the front of the shirt and the back of the Class of 2015’s shirt. She won a free spirit week shirt for doing the design. Congratulations to her and come check them out and get yours now!

March 14-16 will be our DECA club's state competition at the Detroit Marriott. Truman will be taking 37 students to compete for a chance at nationals and scholarship money.

We are very proud of these students and know that they will represent Truman very professionally at the conference. They will compete in the areas of marketing by taking a 100-question exam and participating in two role-plays.

They will also be exposed to a career and business exposition, campaign booths for students running for state office, prestigous award ceremonies and countless networking opportunities.
