Annual Myers' lunch for parents focuses on parenting tips

On Friday, May 31, Myers Elementary School hosted its annual Parenting Appreciation Luncheon with 25 parents in attendance.

Marnise Roberts was the special guest speaker. She is an educational consultant and presented a program about the importance of investing in parenting. The presentation, titled "Parenting Matters," included plenty of group interaction.

Roberts is the co-founder and managing partner of Roberts & Limbrick Enterprises, LLC, a Michigan-based educational services company established in 1999. She and her husband, Byron, are Flint natives who offer motivational speaking on a varsity of education and character subjects and provide practical consulting and training in areas such as professional development, team building and parenting.

Marnise is known for being a "connector" with the ultimate purpose of leaving everyone she encounters in a better place than before she met them.

Lunch was catered by the Texas Roadhouse of Taylor.

Overall, the program was a great success, according to staff and teachers at the school.
