Truman High School's advanced placement government class received a first-hand look at the real thing last week.
The class took a trip to the state capitol in Lansing and had a chance to meet with State Sen. Hoon-Yung Hopgood, who happens to be a graduate of Truman.
Hopgood's senate district in Wayne County covers not only Taylor, but Allen Park, Ecorse, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, Riverview, Romulus, Southgate, Wayne and Wyandotte. Sen. Hopgood is pictured at the lower right in the photo.
Mr. Kyle Smith and Ms. Heather Cole, the AP instructors, are pictured on the lower left.
