Sixth Grade Academy 'Book Exchange' another great success story
The English Language Arts Department at The Sixth Grade Academy recently held its fourth annual "Book Exchange."
The exchange was part of the "March is Reading Month" activities. Mrs. Tumas noted that approximately 80 students participated in this year's event, bringing in about 400 books.
Once any student entered the exchange, their coupon was placed into a raffle box. Thirty-two prizes were available, such as electronic bookmarks, reading backpacks and reading lights.
The exchange is set up by a committee within The Sixth Grade Academy that includes Tumas and Mrs. Frances, and the event was aided greatly by the volunteer work of Lisa Stokosa and Mindy Runions.
The raffle winners included Nia Hobson, Haileigh Rose, Dylan Runnions, Hannah Kreebs, Etien Progri, Danielle Howell, Haily Petty, Danela Young, Megan Gardiner, Dyan Nowroki, Rachel Maudlin, Micah McNeely, Victor Harvey, Rachell Dorn, Phillip Robinson, Chelsea Gonzalez, Sierra Burvley, Carina LeAnnis, Ayana Traugher, Hadayah Wright, Samuel Duane, Josh Crain, Ian Hargraves, Cameron Pianowski, Gerliv Khahra, Andrew Grenton, Kiestyn Alexander, Lela Mae Wojtylko, Sarah Gerin, Sierra Clark and Elisabeth Isaacs.
