A pie in the eye, for reading!
Mr. Tomassion's fifth-grade class at McDowell Elementary School set a home reading goal during last month's March is Reading Month celebration. And they beat their goal.
The class ended up reading for 10,486 minutes!
As a result, the teacher had to live up to his promise, which was to take a pie in the face from the top three readers in the class during a student of the week assembly.
"I felt proud," said Alex, who read for 100 hours. Ditto for Tania, who read for 120 hours. "I was excited to throw a pie at Mr. T."
