TRUMAN HIGH SCHOOL: POHI renovations continue throughout the holiday season

Renovations to the Truman High School POHI classrooms continued over the holiday season, when the friendly folks from Home Depot West (Goddard at Telegraph), led by Tom Gibson, continues some very serious changes to the facility.

The improvements are part of a joint effort by the Taylor Schools, support services, City of Taylor, Home Depot, Masco and various unions including the Michigan Regional Carpenters and Millwrights.

The POHI facility at Truman, which services physically disabled students from across the region, is in dire need of a makeover. The new cabinets supplied by Masco and installed by Home Depot are just a portion of the improvements planned over time.

Mayor Rick Sollars and the City of Taylor has been attempting to support the schools on a variety of projects and campaigns. Through these activities over the past 18 months, a donor stepped forward to fund the entire after school snack program at Hoover Middle School, and a new stage was installed in the little theater at Truman High School.

Look for updates here and elsewhere on the POHL project progress.
