On
October 20 two representatives from Dental Advisor, spoke to seventh-grade
science classes at West Middle School.
Ms.
Yakas and Ms. Nelson informed students about various dental careers. They
stressed the importance of good dental hygiene by brushing twice a day for two
minutes each. Flossing is also necessary to prevent tooth loss.
In
addition, they discussed how all dental products are scientifically tested
before being used by the public. The scientific method is
employed daily by researchers and developers in all areas of the dental
industry.
West
students found the speakers very interesting. Many students asked follow-up
questions. West staff appreciates Ms. Yakas and Ms. Nelson sharing information
about their careers and now understands that all areas of STEM are incorporated
in the dental industry.
