A
trip to the nation’s capital is worth thousands of memories for a lifetime.
Sixty
eighth-grade students and 15 parents from West Middle School made the trip to
Washington, D.C. in late May.
Students
visited many monuments in the nation's capitol, such as The Lincoln Memorial,
The Martin Luther King Memorial, The Pentagon Memorial and other important
landmarks.
They
toured the Capitol Building and visited several Smithsonian Museums and The
Holocaust Museum. West is most proud of its students participating in the
Laying of the Wreath Ceremony in Arlington Cemetery.
The
four students chosen were members of National Junior Honor Society for 2 years
and had a parent in the military.
During
the trip, students were able to create memories that they will cherish
throughout their lives.
