RANDALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL holds Reading and STEAM night

March 27th was Randall Elementary School’s Reading and STEAM night. Approximately 200 attended the program for some awesome activities.

Tracy Carroll from School Improvement organized an “Escape the Book” (like an escape room). Students worked together to find clues to open a box to escape the BFG book.

Created were Chocolate candy boxes and a teapot from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda stories.

Gummy bears in cups of water to see if they would expand representing James and the Giant Peach and the enormous peach’s expansion.

One room was equipped with tablets and the program Scratch. Students could design an escape path for the Fantastic Mr. Fox family, avoiding the diggers and farmers.

For a treat in the gym along with photo opportunities was a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and Frobscottle drink, (which was sierra mist and green food coloring with frozen strawberries) from the BFG story.

We even had our own Oompa Loompa (Blake) attend.
