WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL pupils learn about food chains

Who eats whom? That is the question that West Middle School sixth-grade science students in Mrs. Fent's class answered when they learned about food chains and food webs.

After watching an interesting Powerpoint presentation on the subject, the students shared what they learned with one another. This was followed by an interactive activity of forming several food chains, which equated to one large food web.

To reinforce learning, the students drew diagrams of food chains and a food web. They remembered that all food webs begin with the sun and contain producers, consumers and decomposers.

Stay tuned as we learn more about adaptations in our ecosystems.
