LITTLE LEAGUE OPENING DAY: A look at Saturday's festivities from across the community

Talking Taylor School visited all four Little League Opening Day ceremonies Saturday, April 25. We stopped at Northwest as the league was preparing to get its parade started, then when to North Central for its parade and ceremonies.

We returned to Northwest, followed by the gatherings at Northeast and finally Taylor South.

Highlights included the carpenters union being honored for helping to create the new pavilion at NC; mascots from the Toledo Mud Hens and Detroit Tigers; fire and police escorts during all four parades; the kings and queens braving the cold day; Taylor South celebrating its 50th anniversary; Little League stalwarts Sam Pizzo, Orlan King and Greg Bzura in attendance at Heritage Park; and naturally the thousands of families who attended.

Enjoy the photos ... and Play Ball!!
