The
“Student of the Month” program is a honor that happens each month at Taylor
Parks Elementary School. Teachers select one student from their classes that
who always demonstrates their personal best.
This
includes using the life skills of caring, responsibility, integrity, flexibility,
perseverance, humor, problem solving, friendship and common sense. Teachers
also take into consideration attendance, behavior and a ready-to-learn outlook.
Once
the student is chosen for that month, a tribute is posted in the hallway that
highlights the students. Before the month’s end, a reception is held with
parents or other special people in attendance. Food and drinks are available
for all to enjoy.
Principal
Ms. Downie recognizes each student and the moment is captured in a photo for a gift to the
student and family. It is truly an honor for a student to be named a
Student of the Month.
