The 100th day of school at Holland Elementary School is
always an exciting day for kindergarten and first-grade students. It is a day
to celebrate all of the great ways children "get" to 100 by counting!
All year the students have been practicing counting by
ones, twos, fives and tens to get to 100 and on the 100th day of
school, they get to put all of that counting into practice.
Every student brought in a collection of 100 items. Throughout
the day they read books about the 100th day of school, counting their items and
grouping them in different ways – making 100-day crowns, thinking about and
drawing what they will look like when they are 100 years old and enjoying other
fun activities with their friends in class.
Check out what a creature with 100 eyes would look like
and some other interesting collections.
