Holland Elementary School pupils are persuasive
writers.
If you purchased a new game for your
X-Box or Wii and discovered it was broken and the store would not replace it or
give you your money back because it was on sale, how would you get the company
who manufactured the game to replace it for you?
This was the school-wide writing
topic for our monthly assembly and our children were very persuasive in writing
letters to convince the companies to replace the games!
Students were very sincere, courteous
and offered great explanations of the situation. Many of them mentioned that
they were just young children who had been saving money for the game for a long
time and were so sad that the game did not work.
This was a great lesson in the
appropriate way to get good results! Everyone in the audience, including
parents and other adult guests, agreed that if they were the manufacturer, they
would refund the money or give them a new game because the pupils at Holland
were so convincing!
