Mrs.
Danaj’s active class of second graders at Holland Elementary School was at it
again recently. The class did a constructively critical project on the condition
of the Maggie’s Sweet Shop building at Coan Lake in Heritage Park, and
presented its findings to the Taylor City Council.
Class
members Nathanael Kenan, Alyssa June, Jacob Brady, Jordyn Norman and Ian Franko
represented the class and opened the council session by leading the audience in
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Then,
as the first agenda item of the night, they presented a short power point.
Golf, Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Dobek then followed up by explaining
that many of the items noted in the power point were being fixed, and told the
group how much he appreciated their work.
Mayor
Rick Sollars has met with that class a couple of times this year, and the group
presented him with a plaque that noted how much they appreciated his efforts
and support.
“Mrs.
Danaj has been a pleasure to work with all year, and the class is a great group
of kids,” he said.
We’ll
post a link to the videotape of the meeting as soon as it is processed.
