HOLLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Class makes presentation to council and awards mayor

Nathanael Kenan, Alyssa June, Jacob Brady, Jordyn Norman and Ian Franko from Mrs. Danaj's second-grade class at Holland Elementary School recently attended a Taylor City Council meeting and made a presentation to the body.

The class researched buildings in Heritage Park around Coan Lake and did a constructively critical slideshow presentation on the condition of Maggie's Sweet Shop. At the end of the presentation, they also interacted with Golf, Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Dobek, who is in charge of that facility and promised to get their suggested improvements done in quick fashion.

The students started the meeting by leading the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

They also made a special presentation to Mayor Rick Sollars for all his support of the class during the school year.
