Recently
the Taylor High School girls’ basketball team faced Dearborn Henry Ford Academy
and lost 70-37. HFA led 42-32 at the end of the third quarter but caught fire
in the fourth quarter, making four three-point baskets on their way to 28
points.
Leading
the way for the Griffins in the varsity game were the following players:
- Avery Busch 10 points (Three three-pointers in the third quarter)
- Oretha Cooper 10 points (8-16 free throws)
- Betsy Egler 6 points
- Taneicea Burleigh 3 points
- Amiah Thomas 2 points
- Brooklynn Swindle 2 points
- Brenda Egler 2 points
The girls will next take to the court at Allen Park against Wyandotte Roosevelt in the first round of the MHSAA district tournament.
