The
Taylor High School Griffins varsity girls basketball team took to the court
against the Southgate Anderson Titans and came away with a 52-44 win.
At
the end of the first quarter the Griffins trailed by a score of 12-2. At
halftime Southgate lead 23-12.
Paced
by the play of Betsy Egler (six points in the third quarter) and Oretha Cooper
(4 points) the Griffins came back to trail 34-31 at the end of the third
quarter.
In
the fourth quarter, Amiah Thomas scored 10 of her team high 14 points and the
Griffins were able to hold on for a 52-44 win.
The
win moves the Griffins season record to 2-6.
