On
Wednesday October 7, TVLA hosted its annual open house event. TVLA invited several community partners
to meet with students and parents, including Taylor Teen Health Clinic, Wayne
State University, Baker College and Wayne County Community College.
TVLA
greeted over 200 students with
their parents from noon-5 p.m. on that day. The students and their parents received a list of things
they had to complete while they were in attendance.
Students
had to meet with at least three community partners, update forms and meet with
their mentors. The program also
raffled off over 80 TVLA T-shirts for completing their checklists.
The
TVLA staff was extremely pleased with the amount of students that participated.
Overall, the open house was a booming success.
