Taylor
Parks Elementary School students were treated to any assembly about “How to Be
a Bucket Filler.”
Based
on the popular book by Carol McCloud – “Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide
to Daily Happiness for Kids,” presenters Jan Merz and Peggy Johncox defined a “Bucket
Filler.”
“Bucket
Filling” can be actions or words that show that you care about someone. Saying
or doing something kind. It could be just giving someone a smile. There are
hundreds of wonderful ways to fill buckets. Then the students listened as “Bucket
Dipping” was discussed.
It
could be making fun of someone or doing unkind things, being disrespectful is “Bucket
Dipping.” It is also dipping when we unintentionally dip into another's
bucket with a thoughtless word or careless action.
Everyone
at Taylor Parks is proud to be “Bucket Fillers.”
