The
Sixth Grade Academy is holding a “Theme Basket Fundraiser.”
SGA
will be raffling off theme baskets in an effort to raise money for the school.
Ms. Bomyea, a special education paraprofessional at the school, brought the
idea up to Principal Hernandez and once Ms. Bomyea had the go ahead, the idea
was off and running.
Classroom
teachers were given theme basket ideas and their students along with the help
from their parents started bringing in the items. The staff was also involved
and they brought in many items for the baskets. It started off slow but
by the time it was to start assembling the baskets there was enough items to
make up forty-four baskets.
The
response was amazing. Just to name a few there were family movie night baskets,
an amazing chocolate basket, spa baskets, and a gift card basket.
Tickets
went on sale on October 22 and will be sold up until 9 a.m. Monday,
October 27. The baskets will then be raffled off and the students along with
their parents will be notified. Good luck to everyone who purchased tickets and
a big "thank you" for supporting our school.
Thank
you students, parents and staff for all your donations.
A
big "thank you" to Ms. Bomyea for all of her time and effort. It
wouldn't have been possible without her!
