On April 14 the third graders from Mrs. Wolney's and Ms. Harig's third-grade class classes at Blair Moody Elementary School visited the state capitol in Lansing.
Students took a tour of the capitol building where they learned about the legislative branch and executive branch of Michigan's government. Along with the beautiful architecture they were even able to see one of Governor Rick Snyder's offices.
They also visited the Hall of Justice. While there students learned about the judicial branch of Michigan's government. They even held a mock trial.
Lastly, they visited the Michigan Historical Museum. While there students were able to walk through Michigan history from the time of the Native American to the 20th century. This was especially exciting for the students because they will be creating their own Living Museum of Early Michigan History on May 2.
