Welcome to another great week!
We had a few events going on over the weekend so
I wanted to wait to put out the Cougar Connection until today.
Last week went by very quickly with our parent conferences
and half-days. I hope everyone enjoyed Friday afternoon off. It was
certainly well deserved. I enjoyed meeting with parents and getting the
opportunity to "show off" Truman High School.
Last Friday night was our final football game of
the regular season, a victory over Melvindale, 58-28. It was Senior Night for
our band members, who put on a wonderful show. We also have selected a new band
director that will be recommended to the Board of Education for approval.
She may even begin as early as today,
Please welcome her to our Truman Family! I
would like to thank Mrs. Winnie, Mr. Winnie and Mr. Bergler for taking their
own time out to assist in hiring the right candidate for the position. I
know she will do a wonderful job.
On Saturday evening, Ms. Lundgren and the DECA students
put on their annual “Community Safe Halloween Event.” There was the usual
trick or treating, along with face painting and crafts for the kids. It
was well attended and went very well. Thank you to Mrs. Lundgren and our DECA
students for making this event possible for the community.
My Sunday evening was spent at Buffalo Wild Wings
with the football team watching the MHSAA Football Playoff Selection show. It
was a great time and the boys were very excited to draw Allen Park as a first
round opponent.
The game will take place this Friday (Nov. 1) at
7 p.m. at Allen Park High School.
Come on out and support your Cougars.
In honor of our football team making the playoffs
their will be a short pep assembly at the end of the day this Friday. More
details will follow.
Have a great week!
Remember: This is YOUR team, this is MY team,
this is OUR team. TOGETHER we ARE making a difference!
