McDowell Elementary School said goodbye to a very fun March is "Chocolate" reading month at today's assembly. And guess who surprised us with a visit?

It was Willy Wonka direct from his chocolate factory. Many students won a magic ticket and everyone got some delicious chocolate to take home. Yummy fun was had by all! Great job Ms. Bochenek who played Willy Wonka and thank you to Ms. Hutchison for this month's fun activities!

MYERS, RANDALL CHORAL groups sing for special outing

Randall three songs as well:  Music Matters, Count on Me and a Medley with Lean on Me and Don't Stop Believing.

KINYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S Ms. Danaj honored -- along with a special pupil!

Kinyon Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher Rhonda Danaj was honored by the Taylor School District and the Board of Education for the many great things that she does in and outside of the classroom on a regular basis.

Ms. Danaj’s classes have enjoyed multiple field trips to the petting farm, the mayor's office, police station and the Veteran's Museum.

Additionally, Mrs. Danaj brought with her to the meeting Star Student of the Month Edward Damron. Although Edward has faced many obstacles this school year thanks to muscular dystrophy, he has made steady improvements academically and socially during his first year in school.

As a result of his hard work and steady progress, he is now the top reader in the class!

MCDOWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL teacher, students are honored

McDowell Elementary School Teacher Rebecca Arndt was honored by the Taylor School District and the Board of Education recently. Mrs. Arndt asked four students – Aaralyn Logan, Shania Cardinal, Autumn Little, and Joseph Leonard (not pictured) – to audition for the State Elementary Honors Choir.

These students are leaders in the McDowell Choir. At the Board of Education meeting on Monday, the Taylor School District recognized all of them as a group.

As little singers, they are able to stay on pitch and are willing to try new things. They love to learn.
