Once
again, West Middle School art students have created beautiful art. This time it
was stained glass window patterns, under the direction of art teacher, Mrs.
Meier.
The
stained glass window patterns were a study of "radial balance" - or a
design based around a center point. They looked at lots of pictures of
"rose windows" from various churches /religious buildings. Students
cut their black construction in a similar way to cutting a snowflake. Then they
used various colors of tissue paper to mimic the colorful stained glass. When
placed on a real window with sunlight coming in from behind, the tissue paper
"windows" look stunning.
Students
and staff are very thankful for Mrs. Meier. She is a wonderful asset to our
staff. The creative spark that she has ignited in our students enhances the
quality education we provide all students at West Middle School.
