The
2018 Winterfest Parade was held on Saturday, November 24, featuring plenty of
participants from the Taylor School District.
It
started at the Taylor City Hall complex, Goddard and Pine, and marched down
Goddard and Pardee and then to Heritage Park. Despite an overcast day that
included drizzle, the parade was another big success.
Over
40 groups and organizations made up the parade, which was met by thousands of
onlookers at Heritage Park. Some of the highlights included: The huge Keck
Realty American flag; police, fire and CERT units; Taylor Bike Crew; various
groups from the Taylor Schools, including the Taylor High School Marching
Griffins; Taylor Dance; Taylor Historical Society; Wayne County Commissioner Ray
Basham; U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell; various businesses; Scout troops; stilt
walkers; Little Leagues; 'Frozen" characters; Mayor Rick Sollars and
family; and bringing up the rear, Santa Claus!
