On
November 13 the Taylor High School advanced marketing/DECA students visited
Blair Moody Elementary School's second graders to work with them on an
entrepreneurship project, sponsored by Global Entrepreneurship Network.
This
is Global Entrepreneurship week: To help promote the topic of entrepreneurship
our marketing students did a lesson with the second graders on what
entrepreneurship is, and why it is so important.
The
second grade students were given supplies and worked in groups with the high
school marketing experts to create an innovative new product that they could
market and sell.
The
DECA idea challenge started this week and the mystery item is paper clips.
Schools around the globe are taking part in creating new uses for paper clips
and making videos to display their ideas.
Special
thanks goes to Erin Micahelis (a DECA alumni) for allowing the students in her
classroom at Blair Moody and to Principal Michelle Hernandez, for allowing access
in her building.
The
students had a blast and we cannot wait for future projects with the schools in
our district.
