SUPT. BEN WILLIAMS discusses bond issues on City podcast

Taylor School District Supt. Ben Williams joins the City of Taylor Podcast this week. Williams, Mayor Rick Sollars and Karl Ziomek join host Dr. Paul Reeves in a discussion of the important Taylor School District School Improvement Bond.

The bond, 0.96 mills annually over five years, could generate $1.19M per year over the course of the bond. Those funds would be limited for the following uses: buy new school buses, improve and upgrade buildings, and to purchase new technology. As Supt. Williams points out, these funds cannot be used for salaries, etc.

Also discussed is a Wayne County RESA enhancement millage, also on the November ballot. These issues, while separate, would each bring additional educational dollars to Taylor. The county levy would raise 2 mills for six years, with $2.6M of that going directly to the Taylor Schools.
