Who
doesn’t love to tell their friends about a great book they’re reading?
Several of Blair Moody Elementary School’s third-fifth graders have been
enjoying doing just that.
The
lucky students who are members of Book Club are given a great book to read and
are assigned a few chapters to read each week. They then meet during
their lunch period to discuss the book with Mrs. Wolney and the other members
of Book Club.
Some
of the books students in Book Club have read are “Doll Bones,” “The
Giver,” “Esperanza Rising,” “The Lemonade War,” and “Treasure
Hunter.”
Mrs.
Wolney, the advisor for Book Club, said, “The really amazing thing is how
excited the kids are to read these books. Students are begging me to join
Book Club. It is a wonderful thing.”
As
Dr. Seuss said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more things that you know, the more places you’ll go.”
