The
Taylor Animal Shelter was chock full of cats and dogs looking for a good home last
week -- and last Wednesday, it was also loaded with some little people from
Holland Elementary School, who made a visit.
Animal
Control Officer Lanny Hall and Mayor Rick Sollars were on hand to speak to the
second-graders, who heard about the facility and were able to interact with the
animals. Also on hand was Diane Derosiers of Pound Pals of Taylor, the
non-profit group that aids efforts at the shelter.
The
Taylor Animal Shelter, located at 25555 Northline Road (next to the Department
of Public Works building). A pre-Thanksgiving Day adoption was held yesterday
and a December (“pre-Christmas Day”) event is also tentatively planned, with
the date to-be-announced.
