National
Day of Prayer observances are again planned to take place in the Cameron Priebe
Plaza between Taylor City Hall and the Police Department at noon, Thursday, May
1. Included will be chorus groups from both Kennedy High School and Truman High School.
It
will be the 63rd observance of National Prayer Day.
Scheduled
to speak in the hour-long program are Pastor Phillip Nissley, New Hope Assembly
of God; Bishop Gary Harper, Greater Grace Temple; Pastor Chris Weather, Harvest
Worship Center; Pastor Thomas Downs, Gilead Baptist Church; Phil Matous,
president of the Total Community Credit Union and Rotary Club of Taylor
officer; Pastor John Reilly, Beacon Baptist Church; Mayor Rick Sollars, City of
Taylor; Edward Bourassa, Treasurer of the City of Taylor; Teresa Winnie,
Assistant Supt. of the Taylor School District; Pastor Josh Scroggins, Taylor
Christian Center; Pastor Ryan Bettinger, Northline Baptist Church; Bishop C.J.
Audre, Heritage Park Church of God; Dr. Geoffrey Drutchas, St. Paul United
Church of Christ; Pastor Bill Fix, Journey of Hope Community Church; Father Leo
Sabourin, St. Constance Church; Rose Femminineo, President of Central Wayne
County Right to Life; and Chaplain Dennis Cole, Oakwood Hospital-Taylor.
Anyone
is welcome to attend this free event. Should it rain – and rain and high winds
are predicted for Thursday – the event will be moved indoors to the City
Council Chambers.
