HOOVER MIDDLE SCHOOL POHI students visit Plymouth FD

Hoover Middle School POHI students took a field trip to downtown Plymouth. They worked on money and map skills, along with pedestrian safety. They also got check out the City of Plymouth Fire Department, which may have been a favorite for many of the students!

BLAIR MOODY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL gets visits from Channel 7

Recently Kevin Jeanes from the Channel 7 Weather Team visited Mrs. Tevepaugh's and Ms. Harig's third grade classes at Blair Moody Elementary School. They are finishing a project-based unit on severe weather. Kevin talked about why and how he became a meteorologist, how he creates forecasts, how the newscasts are created- Dopler, computers, green screens, etc, and about severe weather and different types of weather.

TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL students visit Michigan Construction Day

On May 2, Mr. Greenberg took 34 Taylor High School students to Howell for the Michigan Construction Career Day. While there, students had the opportunity to virtually weld and spray paint, discuss the many opportunities in the construction trades, and operate heavy construction equipment.

JOHNSON EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER pupils visit Greenfield Village

The children of Johnson Early Childhood Center learned about the past as they toured and enjoyed all the experiences at Greenfield Village!

KINYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL holds Color Run

On Friday, May 3, Kinyon Elementary School held its Fourth Annual Color Run. Students helped raise over $7,600 this year at the event. The proceeds raised help to pay for Student Activities such as field trips and assemblies. It's always such a fun event!

TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL holds decision day

On May 7 Taylor High School Career and College Advisor Ms. Jadye Storrs, with the assistance of the amazing counseling department, held a DECISION DAY celebration for parents, students, and staff.

A pancake breakfast was held, everyone was given a T-shirt and students were accorded time to celebrate their future plans with parents, staff and fellow classmates.

TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL: Thanks for making the prom a success

Prom was a HUGE hit!

Thank you to all of those who helped with prom. It was a great success and a wonderful night.

The day started with class advisors Carly Lundgren-Barnard and Joe Maudlin decorating the hall with parent volunteers. Then the students started arriving.

They looked so handsome and beautiful in their dresses and tuxedos and all behaved so well. They enjoyed the photo booth, magic mirror booth, getting their portraits done by goofy faces caricaturists, gorgeous photos on the patio and lobby of Crystal Gardens, five different food option stations and delicious dessert provided by Menchies.

Our class historians put together a slideshow that had over 550 pictures from the last four years playing throughout the night. After a fun night of dancing and celebrating with their classmates Pallas Cooper (Truman) and Xenia Finley (Kennedy) were crowned prom queens and Christian-Pierce DeGiulio (Truman) and Austin Dukes (Kennedy) were crowned prom kings.

The students were all given a free photo keychain with purchase of their ticket from Lifetouch studios and a goody bag with a water bottle, keychain, and photo cube.

The night ended with pizza for the kids before they left. There was one last dance to our class song "I've Had the Time of my Life.” It was a perfect ending to a perfect four years!

“I have had the pleasure of being their class advisor for these last four years and it has been wonderful,” Carly Lundgren-Barnard said. “I want to thank my counterpart and class advisor Joe Maudlin. He has been a great partner in crime and I am so thankful for him.”
