TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Nurse pays a visit

Kindergarten friends learned about healthy hands at Taylor Parks Elementary School.

Kindergarteners in Mrs. Ambrosia's class had a fun visit recently from Nurse Christine. With the cold and flu season approaching, the school nurse came for a visit to speak to the kids about proper hand washing, what to do when you sneeze and the best way to not spread germs when you cough.

The students were attentive listeners and loved the story, "Germs Are For You.”

TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: It's Friendship Friday

On Friendship Friday at Taylor Parks Elementary School, the students in Mrs. Abramas' class enjoyed a taste of friendship soup and pumpkin bread.  

After learning about Pilgrims and colonial life, the students made butter and shared a special compliment about each other.  After all, Thanksgiving is about being thankful for friends.

TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Tech buddies

Taylor Parks Elementary School students in Ms. Allmayers visited the students in Mrs. Abramas' room and brought with them their "Techie Knowledge."  

The students explored the iPads together and worked on solving math facts and identifying sight words, all while having fun.

RANDALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Young children get with the season

Randall Elementary School's lower elementary children decorated their halls to look like The Wizard of Oz for Halloween. Each classroom had a different part of the movie, starting with the tornado and ending with the wizard. Nice job!

RANDALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Spooktacular takes center stage

Randall Elementary School activities on Halloween this year was included its annual “Spooktacular.”

Students dressed up in their costumes and went room-to-room to trick or treat. Even the staff got in on the costumes. Some classrooms had Halloween stations set up in their rooms. Halloween decorations were everywhere and everyone had a great time.

TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: DIA has a rival

The Detroit Institute of Art has a rival ...Taylor Parks Elementary School.  

The Thanksgiving artwork found in the halls of the school is just amazing.  Each work incorporates the celebration of Thanksgiving along with the students adding their personal touches of what they themselves are thankful for.
