TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL band and choir busy

the Taylor High School Choir and Band held their annual Spring Concerts this
week at WCCCD. Both groups sounded amazing under the direction on Mrs. Manhard
and Mrs. Bonner!
WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL outstanding during district competition
On
May 3 the West Middle School Concert Band attended the District 12 Michigan
State Band and Orchestra State Competition at Oxford High School.
The
band performed Imperial composed by Karl King and Mexican Fiesta by John Moss.
It
was wonderful to see a house full of parents, grandparents, and other family
supporters. The last time a West Middle School band represented the district at
a State Band Competition was in 1974.
The
Cardinals were awarded with a second-place rating, which establishes them as an
Excellent Band.
Congratulations
Mrs. Farmer and the West Concert Band.
The band will take the stage at Wayne
County Community College on May 29 for its Farewell Concert. Audience members will enjoy broadway
hits from popular musicals such as Chicago, West Side Story, Mamma Mia, Grease,
and Hairspray. Come and enjoy an evening of Broadway.

WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL band performs during Relay for Life
On
May 11 you could hear the West Middle School Marching Band step around the
track at Heritage Park as they participated in the local Relay for Life.
A
cause very dear to the band director’s heart, the band was happy to lend its
support and entertainment. The 90-plus-member band took to the stage to perform
some of the Broadway hits from their upcoming show.
The
crowd was entertained by You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray, Greased
Lightnin’, from Grease, and All that Jazz, from Chicago.
The
band will perform its Farewell Concert at Wayne County community College on May.
