SENATOR HOPGOOD attends Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

For Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, Michigan State Senator Hoon-Yung Hopgood came to Myers Elementary School to present staff with awards and a flower keepsake.  Sen. Hopgood grew up in Taylor and attended Taylor Public Schools so this was a special treat for staff and students.  He brought lunch for all staff as well.

EUREKA HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL travels the world!

The school improvement ladies brought Virtual Reality Goggles” to Lori Bell’s fifth-grade at Eureka Heights Elementary School.

The students had read about ancient cultures in “Journeys,” and were particularly interested in mummies. With the magic of VR, they were able to travel to see the Egyptian pyramids, the Mayan Ruins, an ancient city in Cambodia, and even a sarcophagus!

Myers Elementary School’s last PBIS Celebration was a huge success as the students who had good behavior for the month of May were invited to a Hawaiian luau type of school dance. Fun was had by all!
