MCDOWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL celebrates good behavior

Here pupils are celebrating good behavior in May with the "Chalk the Walk" at McDowell Elementary School. These are second graders and their teachers, Ms. Donaldson and Mrs. Farago. Good job to every student that earned this incentive!

RANDALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL raises funds to battle leukemia

Randall Elementary School is collecting Pennies for Pasta. All proceeds go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Three students were thinking outside the box when they put together a couple of ideas for collecting "pennies".

Jade and Isabella had a lemonade stand to raise money for Pennies for Pasta. They donated all the money they made, neighbors were stopping by just to donate to the cause.

Alicia asked her mother to make a Facebook post and she raised $100 on her own.

It is an inspiration to hear about young people caring for others.

WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL students take trip to Washington

A trip to the nation’s capital is worth thousands of memories for a lifetime.

Sixty eighth-grade students and 15 parents from West Middle School made the trip to Washington, D.C. in late May.

Students visited many monuments in the nation's capitol, such as The Lincoln Memorial, The Martin Luther King Memorial, The Pentagon Memorial and other important landmarks. 

They toured the Capitol Building and visited several Smithsonian Museums and The Holocaust Museum. West is most proud of its students participating in the Laying of the Wreath Ceremony in Arlington Cemetery. 

The four students chosen were members of National Junior Honor Society for 2 years and had a parent in the military. 

During the trip, students were able to create memories that they will cherish throughout their lives.  

WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL concerts get support from art students

At West Middle School, Ms. Meier's art students created Motown-themed artwork to accompany our spring band and chorus concerts. The artwork was displayed for parents and kids to view before and after the shows, which also featured a variety of Motown songs from "My Girl" to "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted."  Thanks for turning the concerts into a multi-media event, Ms. Meier! 

WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL chorus hits the right note in Toledo

On May 26, students from the West Middle School Chorus performed the Star Spangled Banner at the Toledo Mudhens baseball game. The evening was Star Wars-themed, and the students sang beautifully and enjoyed the game. 

KINYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL teachers get the treatment during fundraiser

Mr. Long and Mrs. Rumohr at Kinyon Elementary School were great sports as they were duct taped to the wall! The PTO fundraiser brought in almost $200 for new walkie talkies!
