Taylor
School District received a grant to help support purchase of technology for
POHI (physically and otherwise health impaired) students.
Stacey
S. Masters, POHI Teacher Consultant, received good news last week about the ZF
Community Care Fund Grant that she applied for from ZF North America.
This
company develops and manufactures vehicle technology, such as transmissions and
has a North American, Regional headquarters in Northville, Michigan. The ZF
company established a Community Care Fund to benefit non-profit programs that
focus on the enrichment of education, STEM, and the community.
After
consulting with staff members about their technology needs in our POHI
(Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired) classrooms, Stacey applied for the ZF
Community Care Fund Grant.
Last
week, she found out that the Taylor School District is being awarded $2,200 to
purchase some new technology for our POHI classrooms.
The
use of technology, such as tablets and computers, helps our students who are
physically and health impaired to access the curriculum, increase their
independence, and assists them in reaching their full potential.
We
are very excited and grateful to receive this grant, from the ZF Community Care
Fund. Thank you Stacey for your work to secure this grant and help provide
additional opportunities for our POHI students!
