'Team Holland' raises over $6,700 to fight cancer!
Holland Elementary School capped a successful season of raising money to fight cancer by participating in the annual Taylor Relay for Life Saturday at Heritage Park.
"Team Holland" raised a total of $6,744.65 for the American Cancer Society during school activities, individual donations and sales of items at the school's tent during the relay.
Officials from the school said that it was great to have current school families and staff working at Saturday's event or stopping by to visit. It was also fun to have former school families and even retirees do the same.
This was Holland's sixth year participating in the event. In fact, many on "Team Holland" also participated for three years prior to that as part of the Johnson School team.
Everyone said that they had a great time and noted that the fight against cancer is a very worthy battle.
According to the "Team Holland," the Taylor Relay for Life has raised $177,000 -- and donations can still be made all the way through August!
