MYERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL pupils learn food chains
At
Myers Elementary School Mr. Grant’s class dissected owl pellets, the kids had a
blast and learned about the food chain.
WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL band members participate in festival
Thirty-four
band students from West Middle School recently participated in the Michigan
State Band and Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Livonia Franklin
High School. Students competed with other students from Southeast Michigan. It
was a busy day for our students, but a very successful one. Pictured are some
of the participants.
TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL marketing team continues to be busy
Big
news comes from the marketing department at Taylor High School.
Students
are busy getting for state competition and practicing for their presentations.
Senior
shirts are in and the designs are friendly! They turned out wonderful.
Volunteers
are sought for the kids against hunger event coming up on March 16. Students
and staff members are invited to bring their friends and family to help us pack
food for hungry kids around the world and in our backyard.
Also
coming up is the annual prom fashion show and powder buff game. Tickets and
shirts are for sale In the Griffin’s Lounge (school store).
TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL receives a visit from the Wings
Taylor
Parks Elementary School received a visit from the Detroit Red Wings School Assembly
team on February 8. Mrs. Overby applied online to the Red Wings Assembly
program and was accepted.
Everyone
enjoyed the team’s messages on health, education and dedication to reaching
goals. Students participated in games and many won prizes. The students
and teachers had a shootout, where the teachers came out on top with a goal by
Mrs. Zielinski.
For
participating in the assembly, Taylor Parks received two free sets of hockey
equipment. Thank you to Mrs. Overby and the Detroit Red Wings.
RANDALL-KINYON biddy ballers strong in first effort
The Randall
and Kinyon elementary school team played its very first biddy ball
basketball game recently. They played tough and even though they lost the game,
the boys stayed strong. Thank you to coaches Mr. Cahalan and Mr. Doute for
keeping the boys motivated.
TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL holds Winter Wonderland
Taylor
Parks Elementary School held its Winter Wonderland Family Night recently.
Students and their families enjoyed an evening of pizza, hot cocoa and winter-themed
learning activities.
TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL celebrates national signing day
National
Signing Day took place recently and a signing was held in Taylor High School’s
Little Theatre for James and John Fletcher, who both received full-ride
athletic scholarships to play football at Ferris State University!
Congratulations to them both!
WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL combines STEM learning with fun
Recently
Mrs. Fent‘s sixth-grade classes at West Middle School went to the Lincoln Park
Roller Rink. Students were given a STEM lesson on Newton’s Law. The presenter
discussed balanced and unbalanced forces, friction and mass. After the lesson
and a pizza lunch, students laced up the roller skates and “skated to the music.”
It was a great fun learning experience.

Please
take a minute to review this information with your student. You will also now
be receiving a call if your child is marked absent or tardy for one or more
periods during the day.
Please
use parent/student connect to keep track of your student’s attendance and make
sure you are calling in to excuse their absence.
