Robert
J. West Middle School was very proud to have one of our own speak to our young
ladies last week.
Da'Stanza
Murphy (2000 - 2002), Miss Captivating and Ms. Michigan 2015, motivated and
inspired our sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade girls to achieve success. Ms.
Murphy's positive message of be yourself and be open to new experiences was
well received.
Being
a graduate of Wayne State University with a major in Journalism and a master's
degree in public relations, Miss Captivating encouraged the girls to strive to
achieve good grades.
Da'Stanza
told the girls that her pageant accomplishments would not have been possible
without a good education. In fact she values her higher education above her
pageant experiences.
Culminating
her visit, Ms. Murphy treated the students to a song she sang in her amazing
operatic voice. The staff hopes this is just the beginning of a wonderful
partnership.
Ms.
Da'Stanza Murphy is an excellent role model. Her tenacity, work ethic and poise
are to be admired and emulated. The school is sincerely appreciative of
her visit and welcomes her return as soon as possible.
