RANDALL ELEMENTARY SCHWOL class celebrates 100 days

Mrs. Celsi's class at Randall Elementary School recently celebrated 100 days of school. The students counted and brought in 100 items from home. Some items brought in were noodles, Cheerios, banana chips, and smarties.  The class also wore 100 glasses while doing classwork with the number 100.

CAREER CENTER students travel to Southland, Cinemark

On February 3 the Career Center’s Business, Administration and Management students took a field trip to Cinemark Southland Center and XD and Southland mall.

At the movie theater, students were introduced to the manager and given a first-hand experience on how to manage a movie theater. They were then invited to watch the movie “Hidden Figures,” which features women in STEM careers. 

After the movie theater portion of our field trip the students were taken to Southland where they conducted a Business and Marketing scavenger hunt.

The scavenger hunt required students to find real-life examples of the business and marketing concepts that they are learning about in class. A special thank you goes to all of the businesses that made this field trip possible.

Quick and Easy Steps to Enroll in Champions Summer Camp 2017

1. Go to www.discoverchampions.com and log in to your online account
2. Click on Enroll Now
3. Check the box next to your child’s name and click Next
4. Scroll to the bottom and click on Site Selection and click Next
5. Click on the School Year/Summer and from the drop down menu choose Summer 17
6. Enter the zip code or Westland for your summer camp location and click search
7. Choose your summer camp location (Taylor School DIstrict) and click Next
8. Click on all of the options to meet your family’s needs:

Champions Half Day Programs

• Choose AM half day for the hours between 6:30am – 12:00pm
• Choose PM half day for the hours between 12:00pm – 6:30pm
• Please note: AM ½ day students have to be picked up by 12:00pm
• PM ½ day students have to be dropped off no earlier than 12:00pm

Champions Full Day Programs

• Choose full day programs for the program available all day, 6:30am – 6:30pm. You can choose any option from 1-5 days per week.

1. Click NEXT
2. Choose your child’s start date, and the days they will be in attendance (hint: the session dates tell you the dates the program will be running).
3. Continue your enrollment and click Finish when complete. Your tuition summery will be shown on the last page.

KINYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 100 days means a collection

It's the 100th day of school at Kinyon Elementary School and the kindergarteners have brought in their 100 collections!

TAYLOR PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL enjoys trip

Taylor Parks Elementary School pupils received a “Helping Hand” so that they could visit the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor. With a grant from Delta Dental, students from the classroom of Mrs. Abramas, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Sloan enjoyed exhibits such as H2Oh! and Tornados. They even explored an ambulance.

KINYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL children learn about their planet

Kinyon Elementary School kindergarteners have been learning about the Earth and are having a blast making their own homes for pet rocks!

DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCES a big attraction

The City of Taylor's 2017 Daddy-Daughter Dances were held recently at the Lakes of Taylor Banquet facilities. Both dances were a sellout and were heavily attended by Taylor students and parents.

Highlights of the event included photos of each of the couples, which were taken at the first-floor entrance to the clubhouse. In the lobby upstairs, each young lady was able to build her own teddy bear, a new feature of the event.

The girls picked out their bear, help stuff it with the aid of air-powered machines full of feathers, added its own "heart" and T-Shirts and even received an official "birth certificate."

Inside the banquet room, there was food, refreshments and plenty of candy, cookies and cakes.

The girls, in the 12-and-under range, looked great in their colorful formal dresses, shoes and makeup.

Oh, and the dad's didn't do a bad just, either.
